The South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team has continually been one of the most dominating teams in college baseball since 1970. The Gamecocks represents South Carolina for the NCAA Division I college baseball league with a posting of 27 NCAA tournament appearances, 10 college world-series berths and just recently added two back-to-back National Championships among its achievements in the 2010 and 2011 season under the headship of Coach Ray Tanner. South Carolina is one of only six schools to win back-to-back titles. Coach Tanner has also guided the program to three SEC titles, a SEC tournament title, five division titles, five college World Series appearances, and twelve consecutive NCAA tournaments – the longest current streak in the SEC.
