The history of the Padrino’s family in the food business dates back to the 1930’s in their home country of Cuba. They started with a small food market and winery. In 1968, the husband, Diosdado Padrino sent his wife and 2 children to the States. He followed 4 years later.
They made their mark in the food industry when the family opened the first Padrino’s Cuban Bistro during the US Bicentennial year in Hialeah, Florida. Cubans in Miami started enjoying authentic Cuban food. Shortly after that, with the hope of bringing traditional Cuban cuisine to everyone and not just Cubans, the family moved to a larger place in Broward County and opened another branch of Padrino’s Cuban Bistro in Hallandale. The rest is history.
