Auto Insurance for Deaf Drivers
Deaf drivers somehow sound like a threat to other drivers. Some people think that driving should be done using multiple senses to avoid and prevent accidents. That is why others consider it risky for deaf drivers to acquire licenses therefore saying that they should pay more premiums in auto insurance.
Surprisingly, deaf drivers have actually been found to be more careful drivers because they find other ways to compensate for their hearing impairment. To them, small movements, minimal vibrations and fractions of light can already be great signals of the things happening around them. They also do not have the problems of car radios, cell phone calls, earphones and other distractions that are common to hearing drivers.
Many of the deaf drivers have the advantage of using special devices to let them know when sirens or car horns are sounding off. Some also have cars equipped with panoramic mirrors to enable them to see more of the things happening around and behind their cars. This minimizes the risk that hearing drivers consider as problems for deaf drivers.
