Air Quality Monitor
Air quality, both indoor and outdoor, is measured and monitored in order to prevent health problems caused by air pollution. Air quality is the measure of air condition relative to the requirements of one or more biotic species and/or to any human need or purpose. There are many ways to monitor air quality. There are instruments and systems for measuring pollutant gases, vapours and particles in air. Many companies manufacture and supply air monitors.
The importance of air quality cannot be stressed enough. Humans and other biological species breathe air in order to survive. Air pollution causes or exacerbates many health conditions like asthma and bronchial conditions, heart disease and other health issues. Monitoring air quality will help in understanding many of the pollutants and allows improvement of air quality for everyone.
In towns and cities, air quality monitoring is undertaken by both central and local government. This is because they are duty-bound to ensure that air quality in their jurisdiction meets set national and international standards. Many industries also measure air quality to make sure that their effect on the environment is reduced and their operations are sustainable. These industries, or companies in these industries, are required by the government to monitor their waste and other pollutants they produce; otherwise, they may be held liable for the negative effects of their business on the environment.
