The Stanford Graduate School of Business is a professional school of Stanford University in Stanford, California. Based on school reported data, the Stanford Graduate School of Business was deemed the "Toughest to Get Into" in the Princeton Review's 2011 edition of its annual business school guidebook. U.S. News & World Report also named it the number one business school in the United States.
Founded in 1925, the business school offers a general Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, a MS in Management through the Sloan Master’s Program, which is a full-time ten-month program for mid-career executives, and a Ph.D. program, in addition to several joint degree programs with other schools at Stanford.* There are approximately 800 students enrolled in the MBA program, about 60 Sloan Fellows, and over 100 Ph.D.s in residence.
Like most graduate school admissions, Stanford Business School requires an undergraduate degree in any discipline, GMAT or GRE scores, an academic record including an unofficial transcript, a resume, personal essays, three letters of reference, and a $265 application fee. An interview is made by invitation only, and although work experience is not required, most students enter with at least three years of work experience. Admission is holistic, as many different factors are taken into consideration, but Stanford seeks students who show promise both intellectually and professionally.
