River Fishing Tips

River Fishing Tips

River fishing is the most common type of fishing since rivers surround most of our towns or states. Not to mention rivers are relatively calmer than other bodies of water. Rivers always have some fish around but mostly they are smaller than what you would expect.

Below are some river fishing tips that may help us as we venture on our relaxing trip. Knowing basic techniques will make us enjoy our outings more and get some good results.
→ Check the area in the river where the fishes are normally found. This will give you better chances of a catch. Remember that rivers have small pockets or divisions.
→ It is best to fish in a river with clear water so that the fishes can easily see your bait. Muddy or cloudy water might require a special kind of bait that is covered in bright color.
→ It is not enough that you use live baits when river fishing. You must be creative in presenting the live bait so that fishes will be attracted to it. Make your bait as realistic as possible and use gang hooks as well.
→ Learn to tread lightly since the slightest sound can scare the fishes off. It is best to scan the area first so that there will be no surprises that might end up with you not being able to catch a thing.
→ Timing is also important. If time permits, you may want to study the behavior of the fish found in the river where you normally go. This will enable you to discern what time and day is the best to go.
→ You must also search for the deeper part of the river since most fishes congregate in this area.
