River Fishing Tackle

River Fishing Tackle

River fishing tackle includes rods, reels, hooks and rigs. What specific type of fishing tackle to use will greatly depend on the angler or the person who will do the fishing.

Fishing Hooks
Fishing hook is used to penetrate the mouth or skin of a fish. Generally, there are three classifications of fishing hooks: the bait-cast hook, fly-cast hook and spin-cast lure hook. But within these classifications are numerous kinds of hooks for different fishing methods and different species of fish.
Fishing Rigs
Fishing rigs are used to tie together bait, lure, hooks, swivels, leaders and anything else you can attach to a piece of fishing line. There are five fishing rig designs on the market: still fishing rig, drift fishing rig, live lining rig, trolling rig and bottom bouncing fishing rig.
Of course, river fishing tackle includes not just rods, reel, hooks and rigs
Fishing Rods or Poles
Fishing rods or poles are probably the most important piece of fishing equipment. They are used to throw out a line with a hook on the end with the purpose of catching a fish. They vary in width, length and flexibility, depending on what you want to catch and where you will be fishing.
Fishing Reels
Fishing reels are used to hold and spool out fishing line. A reel has a break in order to slow a running fish. It also has a handle to retrieve line and a bracket to hold the fishing reel to the fishing rod. The most basic types of fishing reel are: bait-casting reel, open-bail spinning reel and closed-spin casting reel. They all vary in size with the smallest one the size of a baseball and the biggest the size of a human’s head.
