The MIT Sloan School of Management is the business school at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. What began as the engineering administration curriculum in the Department of Economics and Statistics in 1914 eventually developed into what the school is today – one of the highest regarded business schools in the nation.
Along the way, a masters program conferring a management degree was established in 1925, and the Sloan Fellows program, the first university-based executive education program in the world, was created by an MIT graduate, Alfred P. Sloan, six years later. The school would be renamed in his honor.
