SeniorNet

SeniorNet

Computers, the Internet, instant messaging, desktop publishing, email – all of these and more are now available to the millions of people inhabiting the world. While younger generations have grown up with and become accustomed to these technologies, older adults may find them daunting. This is where SeniorNet comes in.

SeniorNet has made it a mission to provide older adults with the education that they need in order to use the computer technologies available today. Established in 1986 out of a research project funded by the Markle Foundation to determine if computers and telecommunications could enhance the lives of adults aged 50 and older, SeniorNet has benefitted millions of members. It has been supporting Learning Centers across the United States and other countries and provides discounts on computer-related and other products and services, as well as manages an educational website where individuals aged 50 and older can continue to learn, share knowledge and information and support each other through the use of resources made available to them by SeniorNet.
