Huntington Learning Center
Huntington Learning Center was founded in 1977 by Dr. Raymond and Eileen Huntington in response to the desperate need they saw all around them. Eileen, a high school teacher at the time, often encountered students who couldn’t read and this compelled them to make a difference in students’ lives. This drove them to leave their jobs and start their own tutoring center business.
More than thirty years later, Huntington Learning Center has grown to include hundreds of locations all over the United States. Under Dr. Raymond and Eileen’s direction, the company has met with great success in helping students in every grade level to achieve the best education possible.
While tutoring is often seen as a quick-fix solution devised to help students pass one test or homework, Huntington Learning Center believes that it is more important to empower them with education that will last them a lifetime. The center helps children master their skills in particular subjects in order to ensure that they truly understand the content before moving on to other more difficult and advanced tasks.
Huntington Learning Center knows that no two students are the same and they specialize in personalized teaching, adapting to the child’s specific learning strengths and needs which they identify using their in-depth academic evaluation. By helping students master their skills that are critical to boosting self-confidence, their motivation to learn is strengthened. The center’s highly-trained teachers work one-on-one with children, at the same time encouraging independence.
