Today’s Child Learning Centers, Inc.
Today’s Child Learning Centers, Inc., in operation since 1989, is the largest privately-owned provider of early childhood education in Delaware County. Currently, there are fourteen full-service Today’s Child locations found in Springfield, Media, Primos, Sharon Hill and Colwyn.
Time and again, Today’s Child has been recognized for their contributions to the field of early childhood education. In 1998, it was selected by then-Governor Ridge to aid in the launching of his successful “Read to Succeed” literacy program. Two of Today’s Child’s schools were among the five chosen by the state to offer the Department of Education’s CyberStart Program, which introduced preschoolers to technology. In collaboration with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and three other early learning centers, Today’s Child was selected to be one of the first to administer “PreK Counts”, a program that offers free, high quality education to three- and four-year olds in Pennsylvania.
In keeping with their commitment to exceeding the standards of high quality education, all of Today’s Child sites actively participate in the Keystone Stars Quality Initiative Program that was established by the Department of Public Welfare. Their staff undergoes further education, training and local, state and national conferences long after they have received their degrees in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, all of Today’s Child staff members are required to obtain Pediatric First Aid and Fire Safety certification and maintain yearly training hours regulated by the PA Department of Public Welfare and the Keystone Stars Program.
